Until staff comes forward about the current events, nothing is confirmed as of yet.Nobody knows specifically what causes someone to get taken down and what factors contribute, or what specifically on Tumblr’s end is responsible. I made it because a lot of conflicting reasons were being tossed around, and there’s no way to verify what’s true or the complete story–and still there isn’t.īe skeptical. I didn’t make the original post to imply that you should expect a response from tumblr. Some clarity for the original post: IRA refers to Internet Research Association, a group dedicated to spreading misinformation.SFW blogs have also reportedly been hit, albeit in smaller number.A few people who got their accounts back have been re-nuked. (Eigaka being the example I’ve seen.).A few people who had their accounts nuked have gotten their accounts back by going through support.

Statements on such are mostly assumptions. Tumblr has only commented on the iOS situation and how it relates to the CP issue. They have yet to address accounts falsely being taken down or even mention what they’re doing about either issue. However likely this may be there’s no way to tell if this is what’s really going on. Some sites have cited that this is being caused by child porn on the site, and tumblr developed an algorithm to purge violator accounts, however it’s hitting compliant accounts as well. Please stop spreading posts that do not have current sources. If you get purged, send staff a ticket, but until we get answers no one knows what is happening. Until staff comes forward about the current events (that is, as of November 19th, 2018), nothing is confirmed as of yet. There are assumptions, again based on statements from 3 days ago, that this is in response to a legal matter regarding the IRA.There are rumors that this is an attempt to purge pornbots, and legit blogs are getting caught in the crossfire. This is not known if it is still relevant. There is a post from 3 days ago that the current sweep is being caused by a bug.I shouldn’t have to explain that those are no longer relevant. There are posts from 2016 that are being shared again about NSFW.Until staff comes forward and gives an answer as to what is happening, all assumptions and statements on what’s going on are rumors. This won’t be an exhaustive list of everyone but I’ll likely add to it as time goes on (provided my account stays up). In either case, I’ve made this list to try and direct people to where to find them now, whether or not they’re still on tumblr. Some got them back, others still have yet to hear a peep from their support tickets, some on this list have yet to be affected (myself included). Accounts are still being knocked down.Ī few of my friends had their accounts purged. Tumblr’s recent fuckup really highlighted how fragile this site’s become.
